Vibraphonist/Pianist Christian Tamburr Visits Melbourne
Christian Tamburr Quintet with special guest NYC trumpet player Dominick Farinacci
2011 has been a busy year for Christian including multiple tours around the US, a brand new album release titled “Conversations” featuring Japanese Pianist Takana Miyamoto, a 3 week tour of Japan, and currently holding the principle ‘artist in residence” at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Although busy with music and touring, Christian found time to get married in July to his wife Shaina. The two reside in San Jose, California. In August, Christian had the opportunity to headline the 2011 Brevard Live Music Awards benefiting Music Aid, a nonprofit helping to raise money for musicians in the area with medical expenses. The tour, scheduled in November, will travel from South Carolina down to Florida all the way up to Cleveland spanning 2 weeks on the road. A brand new Quartet Album will be debuted on tour in November.
As a part of a two week U.S. tour, Christian Tamburr brings his critically acclaimed group to the beautiful Atlantic Music Center for a one night only performance. This show will feature special guest trumpet star Dominick Farinacci from New York City. Both Christian and Dominick finished a West Coast tour with headline performances at the Dave Brubeck Institute in Stockton CA, Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz CA, and the 2011 San Jose Jazz Festival.
East Coast Winery of downtown Melbourne will be offering tastings prior to the show at 3:30 p.m. Meet and Greet with the artists directly following the show.
