Tasting Away in Margaritaville
Nothing beats a refreshing summer drink after a long, hot day. Though no one knows the true history of how the drink was invented, margaritas are now considered the most popular cocktail. With many flavors, twists and extras added in including flavors like pear, watermelon and strawberry, just to name a few, the options are endless- though the true purists make it with only lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur and salt, shaken and poured over ice. This heavily contested taste test was our toughest challenge yet!

Cinco de Mayo is a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state of Puebla on May It is actually a bigger event in the United States than in Mexico, where many margaritas are consumed.
The margarita was the most popularly ordered drink in 2008, representing 18% of all mixed drink sales in the U.S. Runners up were the Martini, Rum and Coke, Vodka and Tonic, and the Cosmopolitan. (Source: Cheers On-Premise Handbook 2008)
